Armor & Production: Notum Saturated Metaplast Armor
The very second you lay eyes on this armor you will love it and hate it. You will love it for the statistics on it and you will hate it because its so rare. Its even more rare than a thin Atrox in a donut shop. But fear not - it IS out there, just not a lot of it, here it is - the Notum Saturated armor.
lIf you ever have soared through Pleasant Meadows and ended up in the forest south of the 20k Outpost, odds are high that all around you, the forest is crawling alive. And its not only the feared Black Death panthers or the Pendpods, but its the subterranean mobs known as Diglets, Moles, Scooplets and Shovelets.

Feeling up for a hunting trip? We thought so. Diglet-mobs are omni-tek property so if you are a clan of the appropriate level, you might even earn a bravery token or two and some XP killing these critters. If you are omni-tek you will want to use the "friendly" targeting mode (Ctrl-Tab) in order to spot them. The drop-rate on the Notum Saturated Metaplast Shell, which are the plates we are looking for, are incredibly low. Some have compared it to the chance of a Grid Armor disc dropping, and while we cant pull any numbers, this armor is very scarce indeed.

  Notum Saturated Metaplast Shell
This metaplast shell has been naturally saturated with notum through long-lasting contact with the earth of Rubi-Ka.

After you have obtained the piece(s) that you want you will need to get a few things from the nearest shop. You will need either a Screwdriver or a MRR (Shape Hard Armor) in order to create the armor parts. Read our guide about Bronto Armor to learn how to get hold of a Mass Relocating Robot. The Screwdriver is viable but will require you to have a lot more skill than if you use the MRR. You can get the Screwdriver for discount prices in any Tools booth.

Once you have gotten those, its time to grab a few other items as well, this time from the Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Tools and Bases booth. They're called Etch-and-Sketch Robots and will help us build the armor. If you have only one or two parts you will only need to get the appropriate robot naturally. Keep in mind that one plate makes only one part, even though the description of the Sketch-and-Etch Robots for the sleeves hints to it making two.

The first thing we need to do is to Etch in the pattern for the armor part we wish to create. In our case, we chose to do the Breastplate since its by far the best one.

+ =   Etched Pattern for Notum Saturated Metaplast Breastplate
This shell of Notum Saturated Metaplast has been etched with the patterns for all the 149 pieces needed to build one uni-size plate armor breastplate.

Once done with the etching, which takes 4.5 times the QL of the Metaplast Shell in your Chemistry skill, you will have to put your skills to the test once again to complete the process. Use the MRR (Shape Hard Armor) or the Screwdriver on the Etched pattern to complete the armor part.

+ =   Notum Saturated Metaplast Breastplate
This particular piece of metaplast armor is naturally saturated with notum particles. It adds to the nano abilities of the user.

If you have an MRR this will take 4.5 times the QL of the Etched Pattern in your Mechanical Engineering skill and 2.5 times the QL of the pattern in your Electrical Engineering skill. If you haven't got an MRR, the skill will be a lot higher - 6 times the QL in Mechanical Engineering and 5.5 times the QL in Electrical Engineering. You will have your armor done and ready to be worn!

Since its neigh-impossible to find really high-pieces (and this is considering even lower quality level pieces can be quite a timetaking task to come by) we are going to interpolate the armor at QL100 (which is still giving it quite a challenge finding a Mole-robot type dropping the shells at that QL)...

Final word
All the pieces adds the same amount of bonuses except for the head (which also adds a bit of Psychic) and the chestplate (which adds a bit of nanopool). Is it good? Yes, its extremely nice, which you can see for yourself. The armor adds a lot to all nanoskills and nano-init, not to mention the extra nanopool and Psychic. For many NT's, this armor is a dream come true. The requirements aren't too bad either even though it has three of them. Stamina and Agility requirements are low enough for most to be able to wear it. It is really a shame that the armor is so rare.
